John DeSalvo

Principal Architect

John received his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. He is a full time professor at Illinois Institute of Technology and founded his firm John DeSalvo Design in 2008.

Alex Beckman

Intern Architect and Designer

Alexander Beckman joined John DeSalvo Design as an intern in 2014, while working on his masters of architecture at The Illinois Institute of Technology. He received his bachelors of architecture from The Universtiy of Kansas in 2012 after spending a semester studying urban design in a graduate program at the University of New South Wales, Australia.

In his time with JDD Alexander has had an integral role in schematic design of complex projects, as well as engaging clients, contractors, and collaborators in developing and conceiving construction goals. He takes pride in meeting client needs with clear communication and considerate design, and enjoys the challenges of working in the complex architectural environment of Chicago.

Dave Blanco

Intern Architect and Designer

David Blanco joined John DeSalvo Design as an intern in 2016. He graduated from IIT in 2016 with his M. Arch and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2014 with his Bachelor of Architectural Sciences and a minor in Landscape Architecture.

Andrew Armetta

Intern Architect and Designer

Andrew attended the University of Maryland to study Architecture with a minor in Project Management and a Citation in Environment, Technology, and Economy. While in school Andrew had the opportunity to travel to Ethiopia with Engineers without Borders, which furthered his interest in sustainable design. Upon graduating, Andrew worked at an Architecture firms focused primarily on higher education, healthcare, and a residential design-build before joining JDD Architecture. He is currently attending the Illinois Institute of Technology pursuing a Masters of Architecture.
