We are a hardworking team of creative professionals that have been creating sophisticated architecture, interiors and design objects since our foundation in 2008. Founding Principle John DeSalvo received his Masters of Architecture in Urban Design from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York. Living in Germany for a decade, he has worked for some of the most prominent architects in the 20th century including collaborating with the office of Norman Foster on the Reichstag dome project and spending time in the offices of Helmut Jahn in both Berlin and Chicago. Currently settled in Chicago to build his own architectural practice, he is dedicated to a comprehensive approach of integrating technology and sustainability into high end design. Projects by JDD Architecture have won numerous awards and recognition, including and AIA small project award for excellence in efficient home design. In addition to his work with JDD, John DeSalvo is also a free hand illustrator for Norton Press Publications architectural pocket guide book series which include Chicago, Los Angles and Miami.
When not in the office John is a full time associate professor at The Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) where he is one of the directors of the advanced graduate studios, and director graduate admissions for the College of Architecture. He also has a freehand rendering course and travel abroad program.
